JOB ROLE AND PURPOSE:

Work with Insurance company clients and analysts to gather requirements for new product functionalities and translate to technical solutions. Responsible for impact analysis, functional & technical specification along with estimates. Write and modify application programs on Mainframe platform using Natural, Assemble, ADABASE, JCL, COBOL, CICS, GTAM, CA7, IBM Utilities for solutioning MCAS, Bureau calls, controller division, financial system, Agency system, Actuarial, Infogix, CMS, PMS. Ensure the SDLC life cycle, product changes are developed, tested, validated & deployed into production and support until the warranty of the project. Work with subject matter experts on project scope changes and system impact on application architecture. Optimize batch cycles run time by rewriting the natural programs to COBOL programs, reduce the usage of MIPS without accessing the ADABASE helps in CPU cost saving. Write REXX programs to handle huge data dumps and huge data restructuring. Work with developers on unit testing, QA team on system, integration, and regression testing and business users on functional testing. Provide on-call support on a rotation basis. Take part in legacy modernization efforts like migrating applications from Mainframes to cloud based platforms. Work on proof of concepts (POC) on new technologies and propose better solutions to management to run technical applications in agile manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

MS (or equiv) in CompSci, Information Systems Technologies – Information Assurance, Engg (Comp/Mech/Electronics), or related field, plus 3 years of experience in position involving similar duties/technical capabilities.
